Early detection / Intervention
Although extra care and looking after is required for the first year of life, human neonates already have some nervous systems’ structures in place at birth. These structures enable them to survive and further develop. So, we can leverage such processes and digitally register them day by day. In this way, we can track neurodevelopment and build standardized normative scales of neurodevelopment, analogous to the growth chart. Then, we can detect deviations from expected milestones and flag potential neurodevelopmental derailment. Several projects in the lab are tracking fundamental aspects of very early human development.
