General Motor Theory
In collaboration with pediatricians at the New York State Institute of Basic Research and working with parents worldwide, we are developing a digital registry of longitudinal neuromotor development. Using an App to collect three-minute-long videos from the newborn baby, and weekly tracking the development and physical growth of the infant for the first three months of life, we will be able to digitally characterize normative ranges of growth and neuromotor development using General Motor Assessment and other clinical inventories employed by pediatricians. In this way, we will create dynamic digital charts that are interpretable and readily available to clinicians and parents. Since most people have a smart phone to record the baby’s video, this project aims at scaling our research to diversify it and make it inclusive of all layers of society.
