Jose A. Ramos is a doctorate student under Dr. Elizabeth B. Torres's supervision. Jose received his Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University and Master of Public Administration at John Jay College through an extension program at West Point, New York. He is an active-duty U.S. Army captain on a fellowship through the Army Medical Department's Long-Term Health and Training program. Jose is pursuing his PhD in cognitive psychology within the Sensory Motor Integration Lab. He is interested in developing new models of statistical learning and advancing them for the study of general learning during neurodevelopment. Outside of research, his military career has allowed him to tour over 40 countries to train, advise, and coach diverse groups throughout the globe. He has a strong passion for teaching and mentoring those less fortunate in recognizing their full potential.
